This piece has been made with materials selected to be as resistant to hard out door use. Sandvik 14C28C steel provides the advantages of Stainless steel in resisting rust and staining longer than Carbon steel, but also provides an excellent cutting edge that is easily maintained.

Micarta makes excellent handle material as it is essentially a matrix of fibrous canvas material held together by a synthetic polymer that is impervious to changes in moisture, humidity or temperature- but provides a grippy quality when wet to aid retention.
The sheath is a handcrafted piece in plain black finish, double stitched with waxed linen thread and treated with a beeswax based wax to protect and nourish.
Red stitching at the beltloop and top of sheath is my personal touch.
