Camp Knife / Bowie
A large camp knife / modern Bowie knife with a 9 inch blade, forged by hand from a billet of 52100 steel.
This knife is designed for the heavy camp tasks in mind, being made from 52100 bearing steel, high in carbon for performance, 4.5mm thick at the spine and incorporating a high flat grind. a swedge at the spine harkens back to the style of turn of the 19th Century blades from Sheffield. The spine is not sharpened.
The handle is natural African blackwood scales, attached with brass / stainless steel loveless bolts and brass lanyard tube.
I have left forge marks on the blade close to the spine to show its origins as a hand forged piece.
This piece is accompanied by a hand made leather sheath, black with red stitching and a textured finish.
